Hypo Kentucky Derby ... 1950's Style
OK ... let's see if there was anything good around in the 1950's.
How about ... ... Tom Fool, Native Dancer, Nashua, Swaps, Summer Tan, Needles, Bold Ruler, Gallant Man, Iron Liege, Round Table, Hill Prince, High Gun, Tim Tam, Sword Dancer, First Landing? Hey ... on that basis I should have also included Nadir ... I'll go back and add him. Can't include the good Gen. ... or horses like Sir Gaylord, Hail To Reason, Hoist The Flag, Graustark, Boldnesian, etc. ... on any of these lists. I wouldn't include Kelso, Buckpasser, or Wajima either because they weren't ready to rumble in May/June as 3YOS.

Intersesting that Swaps got mentioned. I'm not sure but don't two of his records still stand?
Anyway, when he was mated to Bimlette, No Robbery came along. No Robbery and Clear Road gave us Going Straight, sire of Bourbon Slush, the dam of my broodmare, Bourbon Streettune.
