Default Del Mar -- Opening Day Baby

Oh what I would give to be at Del Mar today. Sun, sand, women and horse racing. What more could a man ask for.

Now todays card is pretty decent. The Ocean Side Stakes looks like a good race. One Union appears for his 2nd start off a layoff and he breaks from the rail in the 1 mile race. I not sure if this is a good post for this horse. But the horse has talent, but I think I am going to try to beat him with Lightning Hit. Solis rode pretty well at Hollywood and hopefully it will carry over to Del Mar.

I also LOVE the 4th race. My pick is Hatif. I love this horse in this sport. And I should get a square price on him.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

I saw a pic of the track by the ocean. Wow it looks beautiful. I would love to go there and check that place out.

Is One Union that 3yo that beat Point Determined in an allowance race this spring? I think I picked that horse up in that RoadtotheRoses fantasy challenge.

Same One Union. He got hurt and came back and won easily over the Hollywood surface about 4-5 weeks ago. He looked awesome in his comeback race. But the post is what is turning me off.

Default Extra Pair of Sunglasses

Always bring at least an extra pair of sunglasses.
Opening day is quite the scene as my head never turned so much....

Spend the morning on the beach..
Leisurely lunch and off to the track for the 2pm post time.

Where the surf meets the Turf at Old Del Mar
There's a winner in every race and a smile on every face...

I didn't take PVal long to make an impact. Already off all his mounts for opening day.

Got to love PVAL. He must be on a drug binge.

Default Pval

Hasn't that guy already used up his nine lives?
No wonder why he is so popular with the other riders...
Jealousy because of his natural ability and because the rules don't seem to apply to him...

CHING CHING CHING. WHEW, barely got to the wire. I was hoping for a little more than 7/2. But I LOVED this horse in this spot. Not going to say how much I won, but lets just say the house payment for August and a little. WAY WAY WAY to go Solis.
