Default Howard likes Grasshopper

Story: http://blog.racecalling.com/

Quote:
"We always liked him early on, he was always a nice horse to be around," said Howard. "Before they run and in early training, you've only got so much to go by. He was always a really nice colt to train, very focused and everything like that."

Yes, and most of the time they don't have a win ticket in their pocket.

And I think Street Sense is a slightly above average runner.

Shocker of the year, maybe?

The point of posting the story was to share how Neil Howard was so open and revealing about his horse. He and I spoke on the phone yesterday for a good 20 minutes. He's a really nice guy, very professional and always grateful when a good horse comes his way.

The kicker is Grasshopper was just a half-length behind SS... that's nothing to sneeze at.
