Pretty impressive. 1% has some balls. Interesting to see how many OTB's and ADW's will carry their signal on those Saturdays, though...

I never thought I'd say this....but I seriously intend to spend my Saturday nights in August betting Rosecroft.

In fact, I look forward to handicapping and betting those races. I'm sure their will be good money in the pools.

those races are damn near impossible to cap as it is, a lot of shaddy business goes on there. It was my home track since i was a kid up until about 10 years ago when it started going down hill fast and i started heading up to Charles Town.
25-1 shots win for fun there and then you get an exacta and a triple box that pays less than a $2 win ticket. The racing is awful the competition is horrible and believe me, that place is barely hanging onto life as it is.

gl to those who dare

A 1% takeout is pretty easy to beat.

In harness racing, I think there is a lot more integrity to those races than people think.

Those two words do not go together. It's like Apples and Tuesday's.

Perhaps I'm being naive....I certainly haven't played harness races in a long time.

This was way back when I was a pre-teenager, maybe 11 or 12 years old, but I taped the meadows races every night, kept programs, and handicapped them...and bet my allowance money, or had my grandpa bet his money on them when I had none to bet.

Still remember some of the local horses from way back than...Morepowertoya, Jubilee Cosmos, etc. You had Palone, Snyder, Stillings, Hammer as the major drivers. Roger Houston and Jerry Ernstein as the TV analysts.

Anyway, I thought the races were very honest. There's just a lot that can tactically go wrong in harness races.

I'm not saying their isn't some larceny going on every now and again....I just don't think it's nearly at the level most other people seem to think.

Am I correct in assuming that by "on-track commission" they mean you have to place your bets at the track?
