Default Bwana Bull to Derby

He scratched from the Derby Trial and will run in the Derby.

Why?

He got a little banged up on the flight to Louisville...so they'll wait a week and try tougher!

Well I guess we finanlly have a little more speed in this race. This is why I think they are going for the Derby. This Graded Earnings system is a joke.

Wow you really don't like that Graded Earnings system do you? Clearly it isn't perfect, but I don't see what it has to do with this particular horse however. Is there a system that could be put into place that would exclude B. Bull, and instead include a horse that is a legitimate condender? I doubt it. People have made the argument that the Matz horse belongs, but the points system you argued for earlier would clearly exclude him and would in fact, favor B. Bull over the Matz horse FAR more than the current graded earnings system does. The point is.....not everything is the system's fault.
No matter what system you use, as long as it is a 20-horse field, there will always be a fair number of horses in the race that have no chance.

I doubt if he would have stumbled into the super in the Derby Trial today.
It would take a career best effort for him to finish in the top half of the field next week.

He needed a couple rounds of IV antibiotics as soon as he arrived at CD and didn't have time to get ready for the Trial. Flight out already and since he has enough earnings they are taking their shot.
