Default The Tin Man
Nice to see him showing some zip! From Bloodstock Journal:

Multiple Grade 1 hero THE TIN MAN (Affirmed), unraced since taking the Clement L. Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship S. (G1) in September, traveled four furlongs in :47 3/5 over Hollywood Park's Cushion Track on Thursday.

The Tin Man is a good horse. I like him, and I am glad Affirmed still has a boy out running around. But I don't know that I would refer to him as a "hero." That seems like a bit of a stretch.

"hero" is standard Bloodstock Journal lingo for "winner". They use it pretty much indiscriminately. However, in The Tin Man's case, what he's accomplished as a geezer justifies the "hero" label, IMO.

Not to mention the fact that he came back from an injury that kept him off the track for the better part of two years as good as ever. And he digs in when he is challenged. We all like horses who try their hardest every time.

He was pretty much just towing me along, he had company with an unraced 3yr.old Tiznow filly.
