Default Ouija Board preggers!

congrats..
from racingpost

OUIJA BOARD, one of the greatest racemares in recent history, has been confirmed in foal to Kingmambo. The daughter of Cape Cross was covered on February 26 and scanned 14 days later.

“I am glad to say that Oujia Board is confirmed in foal,” said her owner, Lord Derby. “She has taken first time which is really great news as we were concerned because she is a six-year-old mare.”

Ouija Board produced a scintillating display to take the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf in November last year, capping a glorious career that saw her win seven Group 1 races and just over £3.5million in prize-money. Her exploits earned her two Eclipse Awards for top female grass runner and two Cartier Horse of the Year Awards.

After a splint injury ruled her out of the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase in December, Ouija Board spent several weeks at Ed Dunlop’s Gainsborough Stables before moving to Stanley House Stud. She flew out to the US in February and currently boards at Lane’s End Farm, where Kingmambo stands for a private fee.

Plans now call for Ouija Boardto spend the next 80 days in Kentucky before returning to Stanley House Stud in Newmarket

while I think it's great news that she took on one cover...it's also a bit premature to report that she is pregnant since at 14 days the embryo has not even implanted in the lining of the uterus...

nah...it's still good news
I just think it's funny that they have reported it already...makes more sense to wait until at least 30 days...you have no idea how many mares look pregnant at 14 days and come up empty at 30.

I would think Lord Darby would keep it but you never know. How much? priceless as far as I am concerned. She is the greatest turf mare ever as far as I am concerned.

have to admit i was disappointed at the choice of kingmambo....i thought she could 'do better'--like she had the choice.
at any rate, best of luck to the potential new mom. and to lord derby, best of luck to a guy who believes in racing his horses!!
