Default My Last Political Post

Just don't think this is the place to do it. Ive liked eveyone I've met on the board and never want to be offensive, which I know I have been. Just a personal decision. Carry on! lol

Who have you offended?

I've enjoyed them, even though I've agreed with........zero of them.

This was so PG1985 of you, drama queen.

No Brian this is a horse racing board and that's what it should be. No one's going to change my or your political persuasions on a board so it's detrimental to do so. Something about, don't discuss politics and religion with friends.
PS Did you just call me a queen? LOL

Hey, this is why Steve created a place for off-topic threads...over on ESPN, they often drew fire for clogging up the board but here there is a place for all types of discussion! I disagree with pretty much everything you post also but I enjoy the debate and I respect your opinions! Don't stop!!

I think I get what you are saying...though I don't know who you have offended.

The problem with having political and ideological disagreements is that they have a tendancy to spill over into the other parts of the board...

Sommer,
As I said it's a personal decision. I just don't want to. I've met many on the board face to face and although we've spent a substantial amount of time together, politics have never come up even once in converstion and that's the way I feel here. I know you like Hillary and you know I can't stand her. To debate back and forth is pointless especially on a board I thoroughly enjoy visiting. I'll stiick to horses.

The one good thing I think about having this room, is that there is a place for it. On any board where there isn't a specific section, these same conversations/arguments/debates get added in the middle of posts where they are completely irrelevant. At least there's a place to put them in advance or you'd be stuck editing politics out of way too many posts, and then GRITS would throw a fit. I'm all about keeping her happy.

Fair enough. I still like you even though I know our politics don't mix. Who knows if it would ever come up hanging out more often at AP....suppose we will see. Perhaps I'll make a point of having it come up

And yes, I called you a drama queen, like Mr. This-is-my-last-post Pointgiven1985. Of course I didn't mean to trivialize his ridiculousness by comparing you to him. A joke

I know it was a joke just like when I said to you "do you realize you're talking to Steve Byk" when we were having that great seafood dinner.

Probably wouldn't have been that great of a dinner if Hillary came up in convo.

or talking politics with Nick Zito when you met him. Wouldn't have been the same. And the bird poop falling from the sky. I want to be back there. That was a fun trip with a load of laughs.

what i wouldn't give to get **** on by a bird if it meant i could be back at GP with the DT'ers.

Ho-hum, Saratoga next year I guess it is, or another trip to Millions Day at GP.

I'll get by with on-track times at Arlington this summer (which may be sonner as I might be back in May now!).

Politik is serious business.

I like Hillary alot after she stumped this past week in the south. How she changed accents so naturally was amazing and worthy of my vote for president. I'm feelin' the spirit of the lord baby Jesus!! Whoo! Praise the lord!!

well, it's your decision, but i think most of us can disagree on things, without dwelling on those disagreements, or taking them personally, or whatever. i know dts and i have disagreed at times, but i don't linger on it--get it out and move on!

but certainly, it's your right not to do so any more. but we're all adults, we can handle it! well, for the most part.
as long as everyone sticks to the topic, and doesn't get personal, then i think any topic is free and fair game.

Likewise, I'm sorry you won't post, but whatever makes you happy. I take breaks from the political board just 'cause I get busy, but not 'cause I'm mad at anyone.

If anything, I think we're all here on DT closer to the Congress of some decades past, who would argue during the day and then go out to dinner together at night. It's the way it should be, really. I can't think of a single conservative here I wouldn't be happy to have a beer with.
