Thumbs up Greg's Gold

He looked really sharp again and looked like Flores had him in hand and won in a good time for his 1st start back. Looks like he might be able to regain the form we seen at del mar in the Bing Crosby

I want to see this horse get looked in the eye. Got an absolute dream trip on a rail bias.

Dream trip and rail bias aside, this horse looked awesome yesterday in every way. He showed even more speed than he usually does, quite common for a horse coming off such a ridiculous layoff. I loved the way he pulled the jockey to the lead earlier than you would have thought.

Looks like a major player in the sprint division this year. Absolutely gorgeous looking horse as well.

Stupid me tried to beat him. LOL!

Is this one of Chuck Simon's favorite horses?

Me too. I figured he would need the race to get back into peak form. HA!

Ran like a total professional and blew them away.

I knew he'd win easily 20 seconds into the race. He had that look to him and as I alluded to, he was closer than normal to the front. Hes the real deal and its great to see him back.

Oh yes! As soon as I saw him gliding up into contention with an effortless stride I had the feeling that he was dead fit and would squash that group.

Love to see horses with consistently high level performance records like his. Hope he can stick around and campaign this year.

He got a 105 Beyer, same as Latent Heat.

I'd venture to guess that Proud Tower got a Thoro 1.5 points better than Latent Heat.

You might be right Randall but that could be pretty deceptive. Latent Heat wasnt exactly all out to hold off Proud Tower Too. He kept to his task and did what he had to do. To me the margin of victory wasnt very indicative to how the two horses ran. Proud Tower Too rarely passes horses, if ever. I dont think going wide cost PTT the race as much as the simple fact of not having the lead. Both horses are very similar in ability, only difference to me is one can win with or without the lead (Latent Heat) and one is a one dimensional need the lead to win horse.

On his best day, I think Latent Heat is a better horse. That doesn't mean that the ride by Cohen didn't cost PTT the race b/c I think it did.

I would have to agree with you there Randall. I think PTT had his A game on Saturday and had he been ridden to the lead, I dont think Latent Heat would have caught him. But I think if the 2 horses run against each other 10 times, Latent Heat wins 7 of them. Right now he is looking like the early favorite for sprint champion. I would also watch Friendly Island very closely. He is better than most think and he has a huge heart.

Huge heart? Like when he threw in the towel in the Mike Lee(for New York breds?)When he couldn't get the lead(from Multiplication) he took his shovel n' pail back home.Did he bleed,or lose air?
