Einstein is running tomorrow. It would be nice to hear how he is coming into this race. Any opinion on his chances tomorrow? |

![]() I guess some would say Einstein is a better horse on the dirt. Thats very possible. I wont be playing him tomorrow. Just wanted to hear what some thought.

![]() Einstein is a better horse on turf. His only semi-decent dirt race was an off-the-turf race in the slop.
In all likelihood only Einstein or, more likely, After Market will win that race tomorrow. I suppose any horse out of Pletcher's barn is dangerous, as who knows what is going to show up on the racetrack, so perhaps Tiganello has an outside chance. The rest are complete pretenders. |

![]() I suppose After Market can win with an absolute perfect trip off some solid fractions. Einstein probably wont be fully cranked and I really think he has to run one of his better races to win here. Electric Light could be a handful and so too could Touch of Madness. I wouldnt be surprised if those two ran 1-2 the whole way around the track. Whoever makes the lead out of those 2 is the winner.

![]() Electric Light has next to no chance. He crawled on the lead, against significantly lesser horses, and faces significantly more pace pressure, by better horses, tomorrow.
I believe that After Market was overrated last year, as he did get favorable setups in his wins ( which I have already detailed on this board ), however it is all about TODAY'S race and in this particular race he is most likely too good for the competition save perhaps Einstein if he runs well off the layoff. Making money at the track isn't about carrying preconceived opinions into races. When After Market faces tougher competition, and doesn't look to get a favorable setup, he will still most likely be overbet relative to his chances, and that is the time to bet against him. |

I think any self-respecting horseplayer should take some kind of shot against a horse like Barbican, who will be heavily overbet and offers enormous question marks, but the race is tricky at best and there are legitimately three to four other contenders. I will find some way to play multi-race bets against Barbican however. He may win but the price will be considerably less than his chances. There is a lot of pedigree in the 5th and a horse, Riz Sauvage, who has already run very well on the turf in his one start. |

![]() The best bred horses, for turf that is, in the 5th are, in no particular order, Brooklyn's Smart who is a half to Stormina and assorted OK Euros, Mass ( probably the best turf move up breeding ) who's dam's produce is 4-4 on the turf, all move ups, including solid recent allowance horse Plenty and Knight's Cause who is a half to some decent turf winners and whose dam won her turf debut ( and assorted other races ). Trust Your Luck is also a half to Special Grayce who was OK, including a second in a turf stake on Derby Day at Churchill, last year on the weeds.
