![]() well i'd imagine anyone would feel more for a lost soldier than a lost horse--doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't feel anything for barbaro, or any other horse. plenty of sympathy for everyone.
and yes, any horse who is lost on the track is a sad story. that's probably why so many invested so much more in barbaro--so many times a horse isn't given a shot, but the jacksons were in the position to try to save him. the bitch of it is that some still aren't happy--they complain that they DID try to save him. then people complain about the ones who didn't try. damned if you do, or you don't.... |

![]() Who is crying about American Ivy (golden gate yesterday) today. I'm sure those close to that horse feel like S**T today.
Thats an excellent point. What about poor Energy Czar at SA in a race after the Sunshine Millions? That was a nasty breakdown. Barbaro would have undoubtedly been put down had he been a 40K claimer rather than a KY Derby winner immediately following the Peekness. Its an unfortunate double standard that comes with this sport. |

how many aren't saved that could be? plenty. and that's a damn shame. but who will put out the money, and save a horse who won't step on the track again-and has no 'value' in the eyes of the owner? not all owners have the funds that the jacksons have. would the jacksons have tried had barbaro been a claimer? i don't know. i'd like to think they would....or maybe i'm just being foolish. |

As for Barbaro, I grieve for him and EVERY OTHER HORSE that we lose. I also fully support our troops and care very deeply for the losses that we incur. You need to learn not to judge a book by its cover.

I glanced at your 35 or so posts and over 90% are bullsh1t red-board psychobabble; "I had that," "I needed that DQ," etc.... Aside from one incoherent comment about some soccer match, every single post is after-fact. Totally useless. Find it in your heart to tell us how you landed on that Tampa MCL winning cripple as part of your $11 Daily Double score, huh? If you want to make it into the Hall of Internet Clown Fame, you're going to have to work harder. You're failing badly. |

![]() DGIB: you appear to be an obnoxious horses ass! Hooves,Kasept,Stud and Bogey, along with Scavs, and Mermaid could run circles around your handicapping! Your ridicule of another poster is despicable, and since you proudly say you fought for our country....did you forget rules of courtesy? Deal with THAT!

![]() To reiterate what some others have alreay said, your uncalled for comments towards Hooves created the furor it did because Hooves extremely graciously posts many selections on an almost daily basis here. Like any good horseplayer, some of his picks are terrific and more are lousy. This goes with the territory. His efforts are greatly appreciated by many here, and while we don't express it perhaps as much as we should, we are certainly not going to allow him to be treated unfairly.
There is nothing wrong with lively handicapping discussion, even ones where one poster aggressively disagrees with another's selections, but the time for this is before the races are run. To come on afterwards and criticize someones selections is exactly the same as redboarding in that the results are known. One of the great beauties of this game is we all have a myriad of opinions before the races are run AND we get to see who was right. Afterwards everybody and anybody can be right. |

![]() I'm glad Gander gets it. Never proclaimed to be the best handicapper. I just wager to live. Tell me what is more valuable land or a horse? One appreciates more times than not. You people take things way too serious. Keep talking S++t I get a laugh. I apologized and for what? I call a spade a spade. They on here do not make an impact on my way of living. Told you there would be no more negative posts. So why all the smart A** remarks? Go to (other topics) I posted what I'm playing on a dark day. Wish you all the best.

![]() Hooves no one brought race into this, but YOU. Sorry your upset but please be real. If you don't except my apology ok. I don't want credit or need credit for what I do or do not know. Last time I'll say it, sorry to hurt your feelings. I'm sure you are a wonderful handicapper. What do you want me to say? Ok I'll say a duck that walks and talks like one must be a duck. Is that ok? Don't really care, really

Why dont you and Hooves pick 1 winner a race at Gulf on Wednesday, and 3 spot plays at other tracks. The winner is declared handicapper of the day and will recieve a gift certificate to their choice of eatery
