Default Congrats JMS

Major kudos to Jim Sebes on finishing 11th in the BCBC in addition to qualifying for the NHC, Jim netted more then $38,000 in cash.

Why live money contests are so much better than mythical WP:

322 players at the BCBC betting through their bankroll a (conservative) average of 3-4X: $7-10 million in handle, at an average takeout of 20% = $1.4 - $2 million in takeout generated

NHC WP handle: zero, zilch, nada

Thanks so much for the kudos guys. Was a wonderful expierence indeed. It was my first live money tournement . My end game needs work, major work. I got too caught up in protecting my NHC slot instead of being agressive like a seasoned player. i loved found in the turf and had the exacta but spread a bit and "only" had it for $200 (cant believe I am saying that). In the classic I went with my original pick of Honor Code for 4 K even though I knew the champ had evrything possible going his way. It even started drizzling for chrissakes. I have to say I was seriously toying with the idea of 4/All exacta and if I had gone all in and played it for 4K that wouldve been the game winner by about 60 K. What a magical expierence sat was.

Congrats again!

If you're interested in sharpening your tournament skills, Stanford Wong wrote a good book, "Casino Tournament Strategy". In addition to the useful general concepts, there's a section on horseracing tournaments in particular.

Thanks for sharing some details about the day! It's really cool reading, and educational for those of us who are much more novice handicappers.
