Default Hospital horse racing story

So, I took elderly mom to the micrographic surgeon to have a cancer spot on her scalp removed today, then onto the plastic surgeon to do his thing. The outpatient surgery center was near empty as we got comfortable in the prep area. I then noticed that they had a TV set on and no one guarding the remote controls.... and they had Dish TV. WOW, so I find HRTV and settle in to watch some racing. Philly and Tampa were running. The prep nurse comes by, we talk watch some races, I have her and mom pick a number and we all lose. Then the surgeon and other nurses come by and we all pick some numbers and watch the docs horse come in 3rd at 24/1. Everyones laughing and having a good time, and he says , that was fun ! Better than stitching up some people. Mom went in for her procedure and I was kicked to the lobby. Mom did great. Maybe a few more people will go to the track .

Lol. Awesome.

One place that it would def ease the pain of burning an hour waiting for your name to be called to get back to examining room....although I wouldn't want the physician cutting on me to be high or low from the 7th at Santa Anita.

In terms of killing time, the airport would be a great place for an OTB in the post 9/11 reality of having to get there 2 hours early. Let alone what it would do for those who fly standby. ;-)

You have an excellent idea there. It would be great to have a sports bar at all major air ports with wagering possible. Custom Past performances could be printed out onsite as well . Talk about a captive audience !

One of the biggest OTBs in Connecticut is right down the street from the state's biggest airport. . . I'm pretty sure it was intentional

Point given- I hope your mom is doing well

Thanks very much, she had a rough time after the drugs wore off, but the darvocet replacement drug has herfeeling little pain until the next dose.

BTW; i read elsewhere that Winticket/ameritab has just introduced a live streaming service for pc phones with windows media to view live races, odds, etc. This could really be nice , a replacement for the old cigarette break at work. " A Horseracing Break"
