Default Does it matter which jock fouls ?

How much does jockey matter when it comes time to take a horse down,or not? I think it matters quite a bit,but it shouldn't.I have seen certain jocks get huge breaks(they stay up when others would quickly be taken down if their horse did the same exact thing.)

Of course it matters. ANd it matters who the trainer is also which is awful. Headley got away with murder two summers ago at Del Mar on a call that was an obvious take down. I wonder why?

Ramon Dominguez, May 19, 2006, Pimlico, Black Eyed Susan Stakes.

That was going to be my answer, and you don't need an Exhibit Two... Had it been the other way around with Ramon on Smart N Pretty and Arroyo on Regal Engagement, there would NEVER have been a DQ... We were on the air from Pimlico live, with "BTW" on with us I believe, and I screamed bloody murder at the time... A total outrage... Then we had Romans on the following Monday and he was beside himself... And now poor Smart N Pretty is dead.

I think it was Wanderin Boy maybe? That Pimlico Special was a short field. Maybe West Virginia? I can't remember.

Either way, whenever someone asks about a jock getting favored treatment, I can always point to the 06 Black Eyed Susan as exhibit A.

Definitely matters... years ago there was a horrendous DQ up at Saratoga involving Bailey and Chavez..

The horses barely brushed... Chavez taken down, Bailey + Mott put up...

The stewards should have been shot.

Not really sure it mattered anyway. It wasn't that bad.

Maybe the stewards check out their tickets and factor that in to the decision.
