![]() there seems to be bad news all round regarding horse racing at the moment. So I thought I'd remember all the good horses that have run this year. Well here's IMO the top 10 horses that have raced this year in alphabetical order.
Barbaro Bernardini Deep Impact Discreet Cat* George Washington Invasor* Ouija Board Pride Rail Link* Teofilo*

![]() Considering he finished off the board in two consecutive claiming races in 2005, Miesque's Approval's 2006 record earns him a spot- albeit at the bottom- on that list, IMO.

No Discreet Cat? That would be awfully tough to explain.... My top five would feature Discreet Cat #1. Bernardini, Invasor, Barbaro, and Deep Impact would round it out. |

![]() I can't believe that Showing Up and Lava Man were not on the original list. And like someone else said, Premium Tap should be on the list as well. He's turned into a fun horse to watch.

![]() It's mind boggling that virtually all of the lists have, where ranked, Ouija Board toward the top but no mention of Pride. I can only imagine this is because Pride hasn't raced in the US, as on the book it is very difficult to conclude that OB is better than Pride - for all that I love Ouija. In my mind Pride is the best filly/mare to have raced on turf since Bosra Sham.
George Washington Invasor Rail Link Bernardini Barbaro David Junior Hurricane Run Dylan Thomas Shirocco Pride Honorable mention to Discreet Cat who has yet to achieve as much as those above, but who is almost certainly capable of doing so.

![]() Among horses that ran in the US and in approximate order:
1 Invasor 2 Lava Man 3 Bernardini 4 Ouija Board 5 Discreet Cat 6 Barbaro 7 George Washington 8 Thor's Echo 9 The Tin Man 10 Aragorn (Lava Man's wins on grass trump his inability to compete at the BC.) --Dunbar (had to edit to correct Aragorn spelling from "Aragon". Still recovering from disappointment from seeing Eragon movie on Friday, I guess!)
