![]() The pools have always closed on Sunday, but they postponed this most recent one by a week, partly because of the uncertainty of Secret Oath’s intentions and partly due to the fluid situation with the Baffert horses being moved to new trainers. So they postponed the wager for a weekend to give bettors more information, but closed it at 4:30 on Saturday before the final three big prep races, so folks could lock in their Derby odds beforehand.
