Default Asi Siempre's Last Race Was Legitimate

Everyone was saying that Asi's Siempre's last race was not legitimate because it was on the polytrack and that she would have no chance on the dirt today.

She ran great today. Not only did she run 2nd, she would have had a shot to win with a clean trip. She took up about 4 times in the stretch. She finally forced her way to the outside and got clear the final 1/16th of a mile and she ended up getting disqualified for it.

I don't know if she could have beaten Round Pound but it would have been close.

Her sire El Prado has had plenty of good dirt runners, like Medaglia d'Oro. They hadn't tried her on dirt after she came back from Europe because she was going so well on the turf.

Would have been best to have Asi Siempre or somebody other than the 1 post win that Distaf.3 out of these wins by the 1 hole have been pretty big prices.I don't think any reasonable person can argue that they just happened to have that post.

I tend to agree with you guys. Even though she lost by about 4 lengths, my guess is that she would have won with a clean trip. Poor Julien, every move he made turned out to be wrong. When he should have satyed outside, he went inside. Then when he should have stayed where he was, he went outside. I'm not saying it was necessarily his fault. It's pretty much a guessing game as to where the hole will open in front of you. Unfortunatley for him, every guess he made was wrong. I didn't think he would have any problem finding room at the head of the lane. Things weren't really that tight. It wasn't one of those situations where there is a solid wall of horses in front of you. There were horses in front of him but they weren't packed that close together. He should have been a little more patient at the head of the lane and just waited for a hole to open. I guess he was excited that he was trying to make somthing happen instead of just letting it happen. It's a long stretch at Churchill. There's no need to panic at the head of the stretch.
