Default First time derby

I know its early but thanks to a very generous Christmas present from my kids, this 68 year old horseplayer is going to the derby for the first time. i wouldn't think of falling in love with a contender this early but I can't stop thinking of how I'm going to play the first weekend in May. I want to maximize my fun and still have a shot at making some money. Do I make all my bets early and just sit back and enjoy the show, or is it best to bet by phone with twin spires or some other service? What does the experienced derby goer do? Thank you for any input.

Get to the track before 1pm and punch your tickets right away. Then take in the Derby experience which is much more than playing the races. DO NOT forget to wear your sunshades

Default Play the BOLT

Play Bolt D'ORO then go for a lot of Pick 3's, They pay the best Derby Day
