Default The July Cup (G1) at Newmarket tomorrow

I'm not understanding the odds....

If Sole Power runs he wins and not Slade Power.

That's the way I'm seeing it anyway (but what do I know).

Fun field and a great betting race! Hope that Noozhoh Canarias has a nice run too.

Forecast:

Slade Power (11/4), Due Diligence (9/2), Noozhoh Canarias (5/1), Aljamaaheer (7/1), Hot Streak (10/1), Sole Power (10/1), Undrafted (16/1), Astaire (20/1), Gregorian (20/1), Rex Imperator (20/1), Cougar Mountain (25/1), Jack Dexter (25/1), Justice Day (25/1), Moviesta (25/1), Tropics (33/1), Fountain Of Youth (50/1)

Sole Power is much less proven at 6f and seems a 5f specialist. His run this past December aside, where even then someone had to run second to the Japanese freak, he hasn't done much at the distance to show he can win here.

The track is absolutely drenched and that can make this a crapshoot. I like Astaire here. He's done some of his best racing over the course and distance and is proven over a bog track. He went too hard up front last time and if he can ration out that speed he can be there start to finish at a good price.

Thanks! The Spanish runner is also an intriguing option and the money is coming down on him in the UK...

Gotta love those Power kids... (Annie and Sole must be so proud).

Cheers to Slade Power!

Paddy Power @paddypower · 8m

Just to confirm, as Paddy said on TV, ourselves and @WesWelker are both giving €5k to the Injured Jockeys Fund.
