![]() I bet the underbidder on him is now sick.
He sold for just $35,000 at the April OBS 2yo sale. Here was his performance in the under-tack show... http://obssales.com/aprcatalog/2011/494.wmv He actually wasn't slow at all. He ran an 1/8th of a mile in 10.40 seconds. The average time that day was between 10.80 and 11 flat. So he was a lot quicker than par...but certainly not the kind of over-the-top speed you look for. Like about 85% of them, he wore blinkers for his under-tack show. The one thing I think he had going for him was his stamina pedigree. His sire Flower Alley won the Travers at 10 furlongs. His dam sire Arch won the Gr 1 Super Derby at 10fs. Arch also sired Blame. His 2nd dam was by Pleasant Tap who was a multiple Grade 1 winner at 10f's. He won the Jockey Club Gold Cup over Ap Indy and Strike The Gold and also won the 10f Suburban Handicap. Pleasant Tap was also 3rd in the Kentucky Derby and 2nd in the BC Classic. His 3rd dam was by Caucasus who won the Group 1 Irish St Leger at 1 3/4 miles. He won the 2-mile South Bay Handicap. In America he was 3rd in the Hollywood Gold Cup at 10fs on dirt and 3rd in the San Juan Capistrano at 14fs on turf. His 4th dam was by Sea-Bird who won the English Derby and The Arc De Triomphe both at 12 furlongs. That's about as hard-core as it gets for stamina through the tail-female family. The two fastest colts that day worked 10-flat... and they were a Roman Ruler out of an Is It True mare. And a Werblin out of a Holy Mountain mare. Trinniberg worked 10 1/5th that day for my all-time favorite consignment M & H Training and Sales. |

![]() If there wasn't one ... I'm sure there are probably already some people claiming that they were.

Seems fantastic to me but he insists it's true. Question: If you're that smart why wouldn't you be smart enough to be just a tiny bit smarter? |

![]() I don't get the reference.
That does remind me though of a time I caught a California King snake when I was twelve years old. He was a big one, and when I caught him, he bit me, the only time I've ever been bit by a King snake. I decided to name him Nebuchadnezzar. Two days later he laid six eggs. |
