Default Allude Is Running in the Next Race

The Orientate filly Allude is running in the next race at Belmont. This is the Albertrani filly that we were discussing a week or two ago. I thought she was going to be a good price but there were a couple of scratches including the favorite and the 3rd choice. Not only that, she is coupled with a live first-timer who is getting action. Thanks to all of that, she is the 8-5 second choice. It's only a 6 horse field.

Well, as you saw she won by 6 lengths but the price was horrible. When I looked at the Form last night and saw that everyone liked the Frankel horse and the Gomez horse, I thought that Allude would e the 3rd choice. I figured she'd go off at 7-2. Then when I saw that she was coupled with that $800,000 horse, I was thinking that she'd go off at about 5-2 or 3-1. Then the Frankel horse scratched and a Dutrow horse who would have gotten some action scratched. At that point, I'm thinking that I'm going to get 8-5 because the Gomez horse was still getting all the action. I can't belive all the money that poured in Allude the last 3 minutes. She went from 6-5 to 3-5 in 3 minutes. Oh well, at least she won.

knew that filly as a baby--first good runner from the mare--who as I'm sure you know is a half to holy bull...glad she won today.

This filly was Hip #64 at the Barrett's March sale. If you watch her work at the sale, you see that she didn't even start trying until the jock hit her halfway through the work. Right when the jock hit her, she really accelerated. She worked :10 1/5 and she wasn't even all-out the first part. She would have worked :9 4/5 or :10 if she would have been trying the whole time.

It's a shame they didn't have her cranked up first-time out. I bet her that day at 12-1. I could have made some real money that day if she would have won. I thought she was a cinch today but the price ended up being terrible. I'm lucky I bet with about 3 minutes to post while she was 6-5 or 7-5. I bet $750 to win on her thinking that I was going to get 7-5. If I would have know that I was only going to get $3.50 to win, I probably wouldn't have even bet her.

That had to be alot of inside money on her becuase you don't see horses go from 7-5 to 3-5 in the last 4 minutes very often.

Yeah, Rupert, I know. She was the Orientate filly with the blinkers on at the sale, and we talked about her and how nice and powerful her gallop was once before. She was one the ones you told me about.
