Discussed with Rick Hammerle Friday on ATR. There is real talk at 'Stronach Ent.' (formerly Magna), that this will help speed along renewal of the "5" or some form of multi-track multi-race.

The NTRA has no excuse for abandoning the National P4 which was great fun and frequently overpaid..

That would be great if they would bring it back. I liked it because it was quick and you did not have to wait 30 min between races.

Totally agree. The horseplaying public LOVED them. The Natl P4, The Magna 5, The 60 Min. P6. They take a lot of coordination work from the racing offices, but they generate interest, excitement, handle and big returns.

I think what doomed the Magna 5 was that its first leg was always at Laurel.

That had nothing to do with why the wager wasn't run last year.

Steve,
Can you remind me (recap) why they dumped the NTRA pick4? I remember what happened with the Magna 5.
