Actually, I would say the reverse: 61% of Obama's voters were Caucasian Americans. This was what the polls said on election night.

That said, the reverse is also true: the African-Americans cannot stand up and say, "We got this man elected." Bull. If the white voters did not come out for him, he loses. And that will be equally true in 2012.

The race thing is overplayed by the left and the right. It is irrelevant. What is far more pertinent is that this man is the most leftist president the country has seen since at least Woodrow Wilson, and possibly worse than him.

That is why his approval ratings are tanking, and barring a sharp right turn, he will lose in 2012.

I'm not talking about reality. I am talking about what Hooves says.

It's the Economy stupid...well now include the environment because of the Gulf catastrophe is such an urgent matter. The other stuff should be on the back burner, but some of the priorities are screwed up.

You know, I've been hearing this over and over since two days after the 2008 election. But if that's the case, he's doing a really pisspoor job of acting like it.

you might not like this, cause Clinton may not have been a progressive enough for you (though I do believe deep down he was)

The greatest "hope" that I have for Obama is to turn out even a little bit like ol' Bill (minus the oval office bj's - not classy for that office, though it really wasnt our business).

Bill started off pretty liberal, and America really wasnt too hot on him until Newt and the pub's took Congress 2 years into Clinton's presidency (which I think has a decent chance of happening in Nov). Clinton embrased some of the ideas from Congress, and became much more of a "centrist", and his last 6 years were pretty spectacular from a fiscal standpoint. I believe that Obama can learn from that.. and hopefully he continues to use Hillary.

I think a Repub Pres (especially one like Bush) and a liberal congress does NOT work.

I do believe that a Liberal Pres and a Conservative congress does and can work though.

I want President Obama to do well.. my future is based on that & I love this country.

He won because he was lucky enough to run against W even though he wasn't in the race.

Karma's a biatch though and someone from the right will experience that same luck in 2 years.

The righties on here can't stand Obama. There's no way to change the prism of intense dislike and the screeching megaphone of doom through which you far right guys look at all things Obama. You are not objective in the least

But Obama isn't universally hated in the real world, he has accomplished a significant amount his first year, the negative "talk" doesn't match the measured reality. The far left progessives have far more to dislike so far than the right wing!

Things change quickly in politics, the first thing is the fall elections. Then there is two more years. To write him off now is beyond absurd, especially as the results of everything done this year will start to be felt then.

I would argue that predicting him in a landslide is whatever 'beyond' being beyond absurd is.

Lunacy?

Exactly the reason to write him off.

I personally give Obama around a C- or D+. I think he's been ok on Iraq and Afghanistan. I would give him a "B" on his handling of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thanks Rupert..I saw that poll and just laughed.

Obviously my grade is higher..probably a B- or C+, a lot of which is his own doing and a lot the cards he was dealt.

i'm not quite sure why he would get a low grade based on the cards he was dealt. it's not the hand (in keeping with your analogy) but how you play them. every president will try to point blame in their predecessors direction for a while-but that's only an excuse for so long.

Jon Stewart had a great montage last night, show how, according to the GOP and Fox News, everything that happened during the past 8 years is really Clinton's fault!

We didn't know!
