Default TV Coverage

I know NBC picks up coverage @ 4:30, but is it on TV anywhere else?

I have Direct TV, and TVG can only show replays, been through all my channels and nothing. Amazing.

I taped Rolex too. Couldn't get home til 4:30 anyway so it worked out. I'd love more coverage, but at least this way I didn't have to put it off til I could go back and rewatch it. That just makes it less suspenseful, even though I'd still do it and enjoy it.

I love how the first 30 minutes of the NBC coverage was basically The Calvin Borel Show. Super Saver, Todd Pletcher, and the Casners were covered well, but I enjoyed them taking a guy like Calvin and reintroducing him to the casual viewers. How you can watch that and not root for the guy, I don't know.

I think the coverage is not so awful as it was for the Derby. The Calvin coverage was smart- he's the one name most of my non-racing friends recognize.

Though that Rolex coverage- oh boy. There was a terrible fall during the cross-country portion, and I was glued to the TV, desperately waiting for an update. Then, on a hunch, I googled and realized the damn event happened three weeks ago and everyone came out of it okay.

Great, f'ers. They show a shot of the blimp and tease you since you can see the 11th is being run but they don't show the race.

Thanks for the heads up. I can watch without getting quite so anxious when it happens. Not that it's no big deal, but knowing it's okay let's you watch some things (like a Grand National on tape with horses falling everywhere) you otherwise might avoid. I went years before I tried to watch Ruffian's or Go For Wand's tragic final races. Haven't been able to go back to Pine Island's breakdown or the freak accident before Exogenous' Distaff, but I saw them on tv and have them recorded somewhere.
