Default Your Past Derby Picks

How many winners thru the years have you picked? I had Thunder Gulch, Fu Peg, Silver Charm, Smarty Jones, Big Brown, Monarchos, Go For Gin, Grindstone, Lil E Tee and Barbaro. Not to bad 10 Winners since 1992. First Derby was the Lil E Tee's win in 1992 and been betting it since I scored with him. I almost had the Super when Monarchos won but damn Inky got by Congoree in the last jump. Had the tri but the Super would've been great.

Could be an entertaining tread,

All my picks have been alittle short of the winners circle

Buzzard's Bay was the one that got away.

If' it's wet I'm going Prappy o Prado and Ice Box. Still looking for my Dry track winner. I don't think Lucky or Candy Hits the board in this one. Maybe 4th at best for either of them. It's going to be somebody long this year for sure.

I had Unbridled, Barabaro, Street Sense, Big Brown and Last year was my best year by pure luck as I back wheeled Pioneer of the Nile in the exacta for $1.

Hoping to catch somer more of that Derby magic again. I must admit that I am totally confused in looking at the field and the guess work involved in horses transitioning from different surfaces. Hopefully I'll come up with something now that the PPS are available and the Post Positions have been drawn.

Very few, Thunder Gulch,Monarchos and Unbridled come to mind.

The losers seem to stand out more...Lost Mountain,Badgerland,a horse with flower in its name(not flower alley) send flowers or somthing like that, 3 or 4 years back there was a horse with "super" in the name that raced mostly at Calder,Screen King, the list seems endless.

There was a horse named No More Flowers who ran in the Alysheba derby in 1987, maybe that's him?

THAT'S THE ONE !
Funny how I remembered some of the bad picks (or at least part of their name) and forgot that I had Sea Hero until I saw others who had him.

The two horses I was absolutely sure couldn't lose were Point Given in 2001 and I Want Revenge last year. So.....one off the board the finish and one scratch.

My biggest longshot pick to come in was Funny Cide in '03.

My worst pick had to be Friends Lake the following year. I remember being very hopeful with both my WP bet on him that year, and also my exacta box with him and Borrego. I guess I was off by a bit with that one.
