Default Inconsistent NFL Rule..... Refs One Toke Over The Line

Everything in the NFL game is about the position of the football, but the rule that defines whether a QB is over the line of scrimmage when the football is thrown.

Rivers was clearly over the line of scrimmage tonight when he threw to Gates for a TD having baited the coverage by straddling the line with his back foot for several steps of the play.

Hopefully the NFL version of the College of Cardinals (The Competition Committee) reverses this definition during the off season.

Call should be when the whole ball is over the line so is the play.....but SD scores by the dozen so never mind.....

If the Tenn. punter pulled that snap down and walked up the middle he had the first down by 5 yards......grow a pair my son.

I agree...I think that is the way it used to be.
That is why the titans LB left gates to go taclke Rivers...he was a full yard past the LoS.

It didn't matter.
