Yeah I would prefer not to drive. I want to go to Yankee Stadium before the new one is built.

Scav, will they you go back there to take a look? I am pumped about this trip. We are going to Saratoga in the last week of July/1st week of August of 2007. I am heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame and then to Yankee Stadium while I am there. And of course to bet on some ponies.

You do not want to drive it. It is a traffic mess.

Take the amtrak down to penn station and then the subway to the stadium. The only problem is the amtrak only leaves a couple times a day and takes 4 hrs to get to NYC from Saratoga Springs.

Greyhound is a little cheaper but it sucks. It does leave a bunch of times a day though.

You can also take the LIRR from Penn Station to Floral Park right next to belmont park, or there is a train that goes directly to Belmont, which is really the best track in the world.

I could swear that they have tours and that I have a picture in front of Mantle and Joe D, I could be wrong though.

I was too young to really APPRECIATE that and the baseball hall of fame, I think I would get more from it now

If you drive, it should take about three hours. It's a straight shot down 1-87 (NYS Thruway). I'd get off at Suffern, take 17 south to Rt 4 east to the Geo Washington Bridge. Then get on the Cross Bronx exp way. Right after you cross the East River, take the Major Deegan south to Yankee Stadium.
Figure 3- 3 1/2 hours (without tie-ups).
The Base Ball Hall of Fame is in Cooperstown. Take 1-90 to I-88 west. That's after you go south to the Albany interchange from Saratoga. Take 1-88 to the first Oneonta exit (Emmons/Colliersville) then north on State Route 7 to Cooperstown. That trip should take no more than an hour and a half from Toga.
If you're headed to NYC from there, figure about 3 1/2 hours as you have to go back east before you go south.
I could tell you another way where you'd save 1/2 hour but it takes too much time to type. Safe trip!
