Default NYRA working to set up race between Rachel and Zenyatta

http://www.drf.com/news/article/106455.html

Why would Team Zenyatta even consider this? I applaud NYRA for trying to make it happen, but I don't see how adding $400,000 to a purse is going to sway them one way or the other.

Complete BS. That post-BC match-up at FG is more likely, and that isn't likely at all.

Are tracks just throwing it out there that they're willing to draw Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra with X dollars entirely for the opportunity to put out a press release and get some attention? I don't know that all or even one of them is actually trying to do that but I find it hard to believe any of these attempts to draw Z out of California pre-BC are viable and is it possible that they genuinely believe it'll work? I would just be surprised is all.

If the Moss' goal is for Zenyatta to be HOY, then they should do this...because she isn't going to be HOY for winning the Ladies Classic...and I still believe Rachel will be HOY even if Zenyatta wins the regular Classic.

So why not take on Rachel in a G1 race? rather than a match race.

i think this is why moss has suggested waiting til after the bc-no doubt they'd like to win HOY, but they're waiting to see how the year shakes out before deciding to take on rachel.
