![]() Well lets see here, the bloodwork came back perfectly from Flower Alley and he doesnt have any physical problems. What are earth could have happened. Pletcher had 7 months to get this horse ready for a Grade I event at Saratoga. Didnt you say something like there has to be some physical problem and that is the reason why Flower Alley ran so poorly? What is the reasoning now as to why Flower Alley ran so poorly?

How would I be able to explain it? I, like anyone else, have not the slightest idea and would not be able to even hazard a guess. Hes obviously tons better than that and with no physical problem to explain his performance, and accounts by clockers I trust that he was doing very well before the race, I have not the slightest idea. being wide is certainly no excuse, and he only stalked a moderate pace so thats no excuse either. I don't havea clue to be honest with you, andif his trainer doesnt have a clue, how the hell would I have a clue? Last edited by Kasept : 08-08-2006 at 09:58 PM. |

![]() I thought pre-race that getting pressure or running in tandem with Invasor could lead to either of them running poorly. I was so impressed with FA in the Salvatore after seeing the horse at CD. I thought he would run huge in the Whitney.

You posed the question to me as if I would have any idea. Todd is about the sharpest guy I know of in the business. If he says he doesn't know, and has announced he will be going in the Woodward, I would have to just say I have no idea and we will see whats up next time. heck Euro, behind Steve's BBQ stand about 50-75 feet away is a very narrow path on which they lead over the horses for the race who are walking over to the paddock from the training track barns. Flower walked not 5 feet away from me and he had no sweat, no kidney sweat, and looked a calm happy picture and drew some oohs and ahhs from the crowd. His coat was perfect and he looked a picture of health. he didn't pull up lame, and he never really acted tired during the race or lame. I've watched the replay a few times now and he simply looked disinterested in running. Johnny went all in on him on the turn and he didnt stop dead, just never got running. Its inexplicable and I guess we see what the story is next time out. trust me, hes worth too much as a stallion to keep running if there is a problem and if there was a problem he would already have been retired. |
