Default Today?

Anything worth betting or do I wait until next Saturday?

I like Running Dog to win today and of course Artie Schiller at 2/5, but anything else strike anyone's fancy?

There is a very awesome sprint race at Monmouth today featuring Kazoo, Bishop Court Hill, High Blitz, Joey P, and Valid Video just to name a few. Wouldnt know where to begin in that field.

Tim I suffered my 2nd horrendously bad beat for a big score this meet. Somehere in the area of 4600 dollars. I can't bash Johnny V because hes given me so many great money making rides over the years but why oh why does he have to give a terrible ride and get beat a head when I need him for 4600 dollars?(didn't know it at the time but after the next two legs of the pik-3 clicked I was nauseous). I try not to stay down but thats the 2nd horrendous beat i have taken for a big score this meet and I'm getting the feeling that this meet just wasn't meant to be for me.
Its the 4th race and a horse I had been waiting to bet back was running. The last time Vig ran Lansdon and I capped off a huge pik-4(keyed by Dont Get Mad losing) in the last race when he ran 2nd. On that day he only showed 4 workouts and Pletcher released bejarano to ride the eventual winner so I knew he was short that day. Despite being short he made a big move before he flattened. In the process he ran the best TG number in the field yesterday and I hated the fave(harty's horse) because he was exiting what I thoght was a negative key race and agree with an agnle that Blackthroatedwind brought up about the 6f grass race runners being horrendous in their next races on the stretchout.
So I key Vig in 2 sets of pik-3's very large. he breaks great and has teh lead into the turn and I'm absolutely gleeful. Then the 10 horse decides to run with him and in totally non Johnny V style he becomes unsure of whether to hold his ground or take back. Down the backside he "overgrabs" his horse and yanks him back(mistake number one) to 4th momentarily. Although its a mistake that can still be undone he then incredibly(never seen him do anything so stupid in 5 years) he RUSHES HIM IMMEDIATELY BACK UP TO TH HOLE HE WAS JUST IN!!!!!!! Wastes all that energy and gets beat a diminshing head on the wire. he had him two steps after the wire again and galloped out way ahead of teh winner. That waste of energy by grabbinig hard and immediately sending him right back where he was in the first place certainly cost him a lot more than a head. And of course the favorite who gota perfect trip hung like a chandelier in the stretch to finish a bad perfect trip 3rd. That really stung. I had the right idea and the right horse and got the wrong ride from a guy who I consider to be the best jockey alive. I try not to get down but upon waking this morning the first image I had in my head was of Johnny yanking that horse back and then immediately rushinig back into the hole. Its a very tough way to lose 4600 or thereabouts dollars.
I would have had a 50 dollar pik-3 ending on the 5 in the 5th and thena 30 dollar pik-3 ending on Big Prairie in the 6th. I was sickened after the 5 won the 5th, but after the 6th I was really sick.
I dunno, I cant get a 1-5 shot home for 5 grand and then Johnny V has to give an uncharacterstically bad ride for 4600 bucks to me yesterday. I'm not in the greatest of spirits right now.

Metro Meteor is talented but he tripped out against a bad field last time out and I think he will be "9 furlong challenged" to put in a politically correct manner. He will also be favored or 2nd choice in the wagering so since I have that opinion on him I have to go against him.

How about just a smallish type friendly wager. $10 a man. MM vs. RD. Neither has to win, just finish in front of the other.

RD beats MM, I owe you each $10....MM beats RD...you each owe me $10...

just for sh*ts and giggles and because no one ever thinks I can handicap worth a ****.

Before you two take this bet...consider I have won the following bets the past few days.

Best Attack beat Orison at +129
Unkatzable beat Better now at +132
Theconfidenceman beat Musseb at -104
Fairytale Story beat Bella Attrice at +141
Daybeforehrbirthday beat One Traveler at +102
Pure Incentive beat Noble Deeds at +165 and +199

You two still want the bet???

Default Saratoga 5th

The only single that I have come up with is Act of Contrition in the fifth. I think he towers over the field and has the best current form and an experience edge. Check out the recent Spa work.

Also think he offers a bit of value because he isn't being touted very highly at 4/1 ML. You've got Jerkens, Shug, Frankel, Zito, etc, with entries that are going to attract money and keep the price up for Act of Contrition.

Testing 1..2. Hello? Is this thing on?

Well the price got knocked down a bit due to three scratches, but i was still happy with the $6.7, plus I'm plugged in for several Pk3's

Another great ride by my man Gomez!
