![]() This years BC Classic is going to be unpredictable, it being on synthetic.
Who's the best horse at a mile and a quarter, on synthetic? Big Brown? He'd be a very poor value and untested against elders(and synth?) Curlin? His own handlers are not so sure about trying thie surface Colonel John? Arcangues? Back from retirement for one last go!!! |

![]() I think the only writer who really thinks about what he is writing is Steve Haskin. Go to the Bloodhorse and read His Question and answer blog sectionand he tells it like it is about Curlin and other issues. He is the only writer i have read who really tells it like it is. A real breathe of fresh air and unbias opinion.

I drank the Big Brown Kool-Aid and was a believer, but I believe that part of his sucess is due to the Dutrow MAGIC. Was willing to give him a pass in the Belmont (due to the start/shoe, and all the other excuses). But to see him all out in the Haskell to beat a horse that ran 3rd in an opt claimer last out made me think about all the steroid talk. I thought he should have walked in that race. I think CJ is a nice horse but I have always thought of him as a POLYHORSE. I think this is the first time he cracked 100 Beyer mark. MIS could be one of these late developing 3-year olds that turn into a very good horse. He probably should have won the race, in his first time in graded company. But that brings us back to, who did he really run against? For the record I personally like Macho Again. I thought he had a good chance in the Travers and CJ/Gomez took him right out of the race by slamming him going into the stretch. As far as Casino Drive goes, I am not saying that he is the next coming, but I would think that you have to consider him as good as a contender/serious horse as any other 3 year old. Even if he has not beaten a G-I winner like Visionare, yet.
