Default Jones runner, pony target of release

http://news.bloodhorse.com/article/45957.htm

Some people are going out of their way to torment Larry and Cindy Jones. A thoroughbred was let out of a stall one night and the next, the huge stable pony (a Paint/Belguin mix) was released and seemingly fed something designed to sicken him.

This may or may not have been Eight Belles related, but Jones has said that he and Cindy have received the most vile hate mail and phone calls imaginable the last 2 months, and it hasn't abated much.

There are some serious nutbars out there folks..

I tell you this, if I ever caught anyone intentionally hurting any of my fur children [term includes scales, feathers and fins] then they will not make it to the "ruled offtrack" stage.

[quote=geeker2]"The person we feel has been responsible has been ruled off the racetrack"

Reads to me like the Jones's are being run off the racetrack as in these horrible things will keep happening to them which is why I said what I said after having another doc read the thing and ask him what he thought......he drew the same conclusion.

If I was wrong great, I apologize. It just floored me that someone would actually blame the current hysteria on Larry Jones who the 2-3 times I have spoken to him as a perfect stranger couldn't have been more affable and kind.
It is criminal what is happening to him and his wife.

“The person we feel has been responsible has been ruled off the racetrack,” said Jones. “It was an employee of mine, but we are not going to call names.”

I may choose not to have your friend the doctor operate on me....

apology accepted.

...what did he draw it with, a crayon? Actually, given your reading comprehension skills, I'd gather that the other "Doc" was none other than that kid from "The Shining", you know, the one with the imaginary friend that lived in his mouth that spelled out "Red Rum" in the mirror.

In that case, I guess he used a tube of his mom's lipstick...

Yeah, we could all be a little more affable and kind. Typically, when I speak to perfect strangers, I just assume they are "complete morons" or "just out on parole" and tell them as much...

Why would you say it may or may not have have been Eight Belles related? The article says it is clearly not Eight Belles related. It says that they believe a disgruntled employee was responsible.

To quote from the article, "Jones is confident he is not the target of other horsemen or activists."

The employee has been fired.

To insinuate that animal right's activists could have possibly been responsible is absurd. I know it would have made a better story if animal right's activists were involved. However, that is not the case.

I guess it's a matter of perspective... I did say 'may or may not'. He's had death threats directed at him and his wife. It's absurd to think there are people out there, besides the likely disgruntled employee, that would like to hurt the Joneses or things they care about? I don't think so.

I think it would be reasonable for us to consider animal right's activists as possible culprits if we didn't know who was responsible for the incident.

There is no evidence that any animal right's group was involved. They are not even looking into the possibility. Jones and Delaware Park have much more information about the incident than you or I. If the people(Jones and Dealware Park) closest to the invetigation have no reason to believe that animal right's activists were involved, why would you think so?

If they didn't know who do this, and they thought it was possible that animal right's activists were responsible, then I think it would be fair to speculate that it could have been animal right's people. But that is not the case.
