50 minutes before the derby at Finger Lakes race Track.. I was told it happened at OTB's across New York State. Anyone else aware of this? If it's true, how much handle did Churchill Downs lose, because it never came back up where I was. (it probably saved me money )

You couldn't wager at Capital OTB either, it was wide spread throughout the country.

Wow. I'm really curious how this impacted the overall handle.

no doubt it was affected the same way oaks day handle was affected....

biggest crowd in years, second biggest ever at churchill i believe. and the ratings have been better lately on tv with the network change. but the handle will be down, and no one to blame but the powers that be. ridiculous.

But, I'm not talking about the simulcast/online betting dispute... Where I was, we were betting all day long, and then, about 50 minutes to post for the KY Derby, the tote system crashed!! Not sure who's to blame, if anyone is.

Crist has some good charts on handle by race. Derby looks to be down around 2% from last year.

I understand that the hub in Las Vagas was out in the morning and they were unable to take wagers for the first race and it was still out by the 4th. Dont know if it ever got back up by the Derby.

Had no problem in Arizona (even if we can't bet online) at the OTB's. Pains me to bet through Turf Paradise hubs, but whoever or wherever they use had no problems all day...
