If you have access to any replay site check out Race 6 at Churchill on 11/24/07. Huge move on the turn.

Interesting story about him in the Tulsa World last Saturday. He is owned by Bill Warren who owns Saint Francis Hospital. The horse is named after Father Denis Casey, an Irish priest from Cork County. Father Denis loves to play the ponies and is frequently seen wandering the halls with a Bible and the DRF.

He was actually in my top 3 or 4 favorite horses at the Barrett's March Sale. I really like him alot. But we didn't end up bidding on him because he had some type of issue. I can't remember what it was, but my trainer was adamant that we had to pass on the horse because he thought that it would be hard to keep the horse sound because of the issue. As I said, I can't remember what the issue was.

I actually cashed a nice bet on him first-time out. I would have bet even more except for the fact that it's tough to win first out at 7 furlongs and the trainer's numbers were not great with first-timers. I just wasn't that confident that he was going to be ready that day. In addition, there was another first-timer in there of Dale Roman's that I liked, and I didn't want to lose over $1,000 on the race. So I bet around $250 WP on each of them. I think the Roman's horse ended up running 4th.

Although it is obviously still early early in his stud career, Harlans Holiday sure seems to be turning into a much better stallion than I thought he would be.
