![]() In today's paper, the AP story on why Torre turned down the Yankees' offer has this interesting line:
"With more free time now, the 67-year-old Torre said he'd like to attend some big horse races and perhaps take a trip to Wimbledon." Sounds like a Breeder's Cup visit. If so, I hope ESPN doesn't miss it. --Dunbar

![]() Joe, you were offered $5 million . It's a little tiresome to here you complain about an offer that gives you the highest paid managerial job in baseball. Joe, you have lost your sense of reality and you are not the boss so take that and shove it. You do whatever you want but you do not own the Yankees. Go cry somewhere else dude.

Guess what, dude! Despite what Steinbrenner et al might think, money isn't EVERYTHING. Some people are smart enough to realize that they can get along on less than $5 million/year if someone values the work they do. --Dunbar
