So it took 40 minutes to determine nothing happened. The horse I saw cut off half the field, really didn't?

Not knowing much about the rules of racing in France I would say they probably made the correct call or no call. He did cross over and cause a few to steady behind him but didn't look bad enough to warrant a DQ

I was there, so I won't pretend to have had the best vantage point, but did he actually cost any horses position? He certainly didn't cause the runner up and problems, so the best horse was left as the winner. What is the big deal?
England does it the best, by the way.
