Default has it happened to you?

in the 2nd race I like RB's horse
so I decide he's worth a $10 win bet
the guy working the window looks like
he could have helped build the twin spires
so anyway I know I said 4,
I'd swear on a stack of bibles
he gives me the 2 instead,
now, it's my fault for not checking it, I know
so, the 4 wins, and I'm furious
when I realize what happened
and it affects my play the rest of the day
has this mishap happened to you
or am I just a hard-luck case?
I really felt ill in the pit of my stomach
what can you do I s'pose?
lesson learned the hard way
horse paid $12.20

It happened to me in Las Vegas at the Aladin. I was in a hurry to meet up friend. I know what I bought and you are right it's our fault for not checking the ticket. When I went to cash the ticket with some other winners the same teller waited on me and he such a dip that I don't even consider that hotel anymore. They had a little counter and two moniters for a sports book, very weak.

Something similar happened to me at the Harrah's sportsbook. They had some foreign tellers who apparently had trouble understanding which track I was playing. They gave me tickets for Aqueduct, but I was playing Oaklawn. Wasn't playing big so I only lost a few dollars, but I was a bit irritated. Seems odd that a sportsbook would hire people who have trouble with the language to be tellers.

Odd.....I am normally anal retentive in checking my tickets.....but I too, have been burned in the sports books of Nevada. I NEVER have miscalled or received wrong tickets I didn't catch in time from a teller at a track or an OTB.

But, I have twice gotten incorrect tickets at casinos. And found out after I thought I had wins.

But I've gotten even. No power horse plays for me in a casino again.

Lately I have gotten back 2 or even 3 tickets from the tellers at CD with the wrong numbers. Thankfully I am pretty anal about checking them at the window, don't need my Pick 3 or tri wheel blown, they are pretty intricate and if the guy is 80 and seems to be struggling while I am calling out the bet, then it's a no-brainer to carefully check the ticket.

But even if it's simple, I guess the lesson is check anyway...

Here's a good one for you...I was at Mandalay Bay a couple of years ago & went to get out $500 bucks from the ATM for use in the Sports Book. (For anyone that doesn't know, these things spit out hundred dollar bills in Vegas.)
Anyway, the thing spits out five $20 bills instead of five $100 bills. You talk about a headache...the casinos assume no responsibility for the ATMs...I had to wait & take care of it when I got back home. Some wing nut technician had mixed up the cartridges for the 20's and 100's. Mad props to anyone that was there that day & tried to get out $80...they probably got $400.

It happened to me at Monmouth Park. I missed a $250 exacta because of it. The teller put the wrong number on top. I know I called it out right because I had it written down. I went back to the window to change it when I noticed only to get boxed out. It was the last time I've ever left the window without checking my tickets. I only have myself to blame for it. I couldn't concentrate after that.
