Alex a big doubt now. I hope we do get to see her this season! from racingpost

THE potentially mouth-watering clash between Aidan O'Brien's outstanding fillies Alexandrova and Peeping Fawn in Wednesday's Darley Yorkshire Oaks is now in doubt.

Last year's Yorkshire Oaks winner Alexandrova has not been seen since finishing third behind Mandesha in the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp in October but O'Brien on Monday reported that it is unlikely the four-year-old will be at York to defend her crown.

The trainer said: "We discovered that Alexandrova was a bit tight behind when she came in from exercise this morning. We will see how she is tomorrow but there has to be a serious doubt about her running." Irish Oaks heroine Peeping Fawn, dubbed the 'Iron Lady' after her impressive victory in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, seems certain to take her place in the line-up as she bids for a fourth Group 1 success of the season.

She faces a classy supporting cast headed by runaway Ribblesdale Stakes winner Silkwood and Goodwood Cup winner Allegretto, who bids to improve on her thirdbehind Alexandrova in this race 12 months ago.

That's a real shame

Yeah that sucks. Still looking forward to the race though, been waiting for the meeting between Peeping Fawn and Silkwood for a long time.

It's such a shame, because this is another race that could be sorted out by the weather. At the moment, i would say it is unlikely that Silkwood will run, either.

Michael Jarvis has already stated that she is a filly that loves really fast ground, and she is unlikely to get that at York.

Anymore rain and i think she will be a non runner, also
