Default Saratoga so far

Have to say, the first two days have been great (viewing from home). The prices have been outstanding (and some say artificial surfaces are inscrutable ! ), and the racing, of course, terrific.

Only one thing is bothering me though... this is two days in a row with sequences that should have produced P6 carryovers, and instead there's been 1 winner. The internal P3 on races 5-6-7 paid $9,333 which in NY is a virtual lock there will be a P6 carryover. Maybe it's the skeptic in me but there is no way a non-carryover day should be hit with ML's of 7/2, 15-1, 15-1, 6-1, 9/5, and 8-1.

Ready's Image could easily have been a single on most tickets... any other horse wins, virtual carryover I think.

I've been looking closely at the odds board, and going a bit deeper than normal while ignoring several low-odds horses.

I had a great time opening day. What a crowd! People were having a blast. It was nice being able to meet a few Dt'ers. It was funny when someone said "oh the troublemaker". Steve is a great guy. E-street and I bought a DT stable hat which I've proudly worn ever since. Didn't get any pulled pork yesterday. I'm saving myself for Saturday. By the way, the "sights" at the track don't seem to get any better. I'm glad my wife thinks I go there just to gamble. LOL just kidding As far as the wagering goes, I bombed out in the early pick-4 and made some goofy mistakes on a Pick-3 ticket that I did not play very smart. I went too deep on the first leg and not deep enough in the last leg which ended with that 20K claimer. I'm looking forward to the remainder of the meet. It has been an interesting beginning and this years Whitney looks very competetive. I look forward to meeting more DT'ers. Good luck. Pat
