Default Breeders Cup

I know, I know, it is early and Saratoga hasn't even started, but I was wondering if anyone has received anything about Breeder's Cup tickets.

I put in my application and sent it with my payment information and am just now opening my mail from the last few weeks. Anyway, Breeders Cup made a charge to my account on 6/25 but I have not received anything in the mail regarding tickets. Has anyone else been charged yet? Have you received info about your tickets?

I am hoping this means I have tickets and not just a charge to my account to be reversed later when they decide who gets tickets and who doesn't.

Thanks

You should have tickets. I don't think they are charging accounts if you're not getting them, otherwise they would've charged your account the day you applied so they could get interest on the money before refunding it.

They charged my account too, but it was for less than what I asked for, so I am assuming mine got downgraded and the lower amount was charged.

Ditto here, except I couldn't make the numbers add up to see where my seats are. My guess is that everyone that applied will get seats. With the price of the tickets and having to "apply" so far in advance, only the hardcore locals will be there at this point. Plus I have to believe people are going to think twice about going after the last 3 debacles weather-wise at Belmont. I'd be surprised if they end up selling out on the first shot.

By the amount I was charged I think I ended up with seats on the apron, good seats but on the apron. Should be great when the October mist starts flying.

When I applied, I thought I read something about them charging and refunding if you ultimately didn't win the lottery. Sorry to be the wet blanket, but I don't think getting charged necessarily means that you got tickets. The delay in charging could simply be from bureaucratic inefficiency. And I thought they already announced that they got enough applications to sell out, but I could be wrong.

Yeah but.....

Why would they charge an amount less than what I applied for?

Good point. You're probably right.

i'd imagine it would be a hold on your card--essentially the same as a charge, since you can't use that amount of credit--but it doesn't accumulate interest like a charge either...

the lower amount might be if you indicated you would take a cheaper seat, if too many got drawn in for the higher seats...

all just speculation on my part tho, i didn't read the fine print as i wasn't looking to attend this year.
