Default Prayers needed

I got word this evening that my dad is in the hospital. He's 88 years old, and has been in an assisted living facility for a year and half or so. According to my sister, he's not doing good at all. He'd had a pretty bad cold, that may have turned into pneumonia, his kidneys aren't working, and he has a high level of potassium in his system. They're giving him antibiotics, tryin to lower the potassium level. He's pretty tough, hopefully the meds will pull him through. He's up in Virginia, and I live here in Florida, the distance at a time like this is just awful. I was still living in Virginia in 1999, when my mom passed away. Yet dad and I didn't get to the hospital in time, moments after she was already gone. Now I'm even further away, and fearing that I won't be there again, in case he doesn't make it. I pray he will make it, and things will be ok. Just keep my dad Charles in your prayers, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks

never easy..especially the distance. I am in San Diego -my Mom and Dad in Albany, NY area. When my Dad passed I was trying to get home in time never made it. My Mom is now in Assisted Living..dreading the time I get a similar call. Hang tough. The time of our departure is not our choosing. Keep the faith.

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

You and your father will be in our prayers tonight.

Mike, sorry to hear this news...I also got some bad news about my dad just a few hours ago. He'll have to be opened up again tomorrow morning at 7:30am, he is not recovering well from the surgery he had a week ago. His spirits are way down and I feel helpless in what to do. Along with my dad's problems, things at home aren't well either. I really feel alone right now and I'm concerned that dad won't pull through this surgery. It's so good to have great people on this site who look out for each other in our times of need. My prayers go out to you, it will be the thing that gets us through.

Default Thanks everyone......

My dad's doing a little better today, a couple good signs his kidneys are working again. Also his potassium level is normal, and he's breathing on his own, still in Critical Care, but a bit of improvment. Thanks again, and keep those prayers comng. Hick, keep us posted on your dad's surgery as well, and know our thoughts and prayers are with you as well.
