Default Mountaineer Horsemen, they have it figured out

Seriously, I am looking at the early DD right now and I see the 2nd race, where 5k claimers run for a 15k purse. You can claim a horse for 5k, win next out, and make 4k plus your claim back. Then when he wins a 2nd time and gets claimed, you are rolling.......unbelievable purse structure. Why wouldn't you want to race there?

I am going to consider claiming a solid 5k claimer here and send him down there.

That is why I can't wait for Penn National to get the slots and slot purse money going...

Open $5K claimers at the Mountain is a tough class. Most of the horses claimed for $5K have conditions that a horse is coming up to, ie NW1 last 12 months, NW1 last 6 months, etc. Those races go for about $11K and that is where you can make your money back. A 5K claimer with no conditions better win or he/she is stuck for 6 months of racing vs tough ones before they can drop to easier. Open $5k claimers moving to $7500 claimers often get their heads blown off.

As for sending a horse down from another circuit, better bring your own jock. Need to use one of the Mountain regulars for an unkown trainer on the circuit, well they look in the race and see they also ride for three or four other trainers on a regular basis, you may not get the best of rides. Good angles at the Mountain are shippers who bring their own jock from TDN or BEA or even TP. The trainers know those jocks will follow their instructions.

Good Luck if you ship one in.

nearby chucktown also has good pots for bottom claimers scav.iman they got non winners of a date 1,2 and 3 i believe on the bottom there. we won there this past feb we shipped in from chicago. we had no problems whatsoever with the ride we got from chad murphy, he was all out on our mare and we needed him to be cuz we won a 3 horse photo and survived 2 objections . the only problem we encountered in the detention barn was from some biatch working in there who was giving us a attitude and says you expect me to be nice when you people come in here from chicago and steal our money LMFAO!
