Default Bob and John wins Lone Star Park Handicap

Times in 100ths: :24.42 :48.53 1:12.33 1:38.15 1:45.02

4 horse field

Sweetnorthernsaint runs second.

A purse of $388,000 and only 5 were entered. Unreal. It's like people don't want to make money.

Nothing like a four horse field where the two most overrated horses on the planet run 1-2. . .

Yeah, luckily they've only combined to win 1.85 million dollars in their careers with a combined top 3 in only 22 out of 29 races. Quite a coup to get those guys together in central Texas on a rainy Memorial Day. Who are the two most overrated horses on Neptune??

Baffert wins a race again. Good for him.
It seems things have not been easy at Hollywood.

I guess my point is are these horses really overrated?? They both won some nice Derby preps last year and ran in two classic races. SNS perhaps was overrated going into the Derby as the favorite, but he wasn't a disaster running 7th with a rough trip and then 2nd in the Preakness. Bob and John did not run well in either the Derby or Belmont. They both belonged in those races however. Both took extended breaks after the classics. SNS came back and ran an allowance at Laurel and a minor stake at Delaware Park and this year has run in 3 grade 3s, a local stakes at Laurel and the Sunshine Millions Classic which it would be stupid not to run him in being a million dollar race and all. His trainer certainly isn't overrating him with those placements. Bob and John came back to nothing races in Cal last year and now 2 stakes at Lone Star. His trainer doesn't appear to be overrating him.

I haven't seen a whole lot of chatter on these boards this year proclaming the greatness of these two horses. But again, you're talking about one horse 4 thousand dollars from a million (Bob and John) and another 40 thousand dollars away from 900 thousand (Sweetnorthernsaint). They're very talented horses who other than perhaps being a bit over valued heading into the triple crown races last year, I'm not seeing where they are still "overrated".

Both are being placed realistically in spots where they should have a chance to win...I don't see where "overrated" applies to these animals anymore.

Great data. . . Proved nothing at all, though. . . Please tell me which races either of these horses have won that were impressive. . .

It proves when they run they are usually top 3, and proves they haul in money. Every race you win is impressive. That is the goal. Some are faster than others, but a win is a win is a win.

Again, it's hard to "prove" a horse isn't "overrated". That is in fact an impossibility to prove. I can only state why I feel they aren't "overrated" which doesn't prove they aren't.

My guess is that Course was being sarcastic and wouldn't mind owning two horses that have collected 1.85 million, I sure as hell wouldn't mind that

I really don't understand these 400k races with 4 horses. Does it really cost that much to ship a horse?
One thing about Baffert he is always sniffing out the cupcake races.
