Default Scat Daddy- bar shoes

Jay Privan reported that Scat Daddy worked with bar shoes on both front hooves Sunday, but quoted Platcher as saying he won't race with them on Saturday

NOT a good sign at all. Bar shoes and for that measure bar shoes on a forgiving surface like polytrack= uh oh......BAD SIGN

Its not what I would want to hear, that's for sure. Didn't like him for a large piece anyway so it doesn't affect my view of him much.

Or the horse already has a quarter crack and they put them on to hlep support the hoof or the horse has navicular disease or some other hoof ailment . If you look at the horses foot in the paddock and see some stuff on it that looks like bondo that means he has popped a crack and it has been patched .

Bar shoes make an instant toss in a race like this.

That's a pretty poor analogy. Is it possible Pletcher isn't telling the whole truth? Yes, but it's not particularly likely. Horses do train in bar shoes and not run in them sometimes. Horses run with bar shoes and win sometimes as well. Suggesting he has some debilitating injury ( like a torn ACL ) defies logic.

Sounds more to me like he already has his excuse however. A phony excuse....but they usually are.

I'm not concerned about it. If he looks lame in the paddock or post parade, then I'll worry... I haven't seen that thus yet. Agree that it's not a good sign, though.

You're gonna have to consult with you know who then.

I can only hope that our board expert will be on hand to let me know just how sore he is.

One can only believe that her services are so in demand this week that she won't have time to help us little folks at this time.

It's a bloody shame too. Every dollar I planned on betting is riding on her expertise. I had forgotten she teamed up with Justin Dew this week.

But, will this news change how or how much you wager on him?
