Default Movie Recomendation

haven't seen a movie in 6-8 months...thinking of renting a couple tonight.

Anyone seen anything good lately???

Comedy...drama...suspense. Not a big horror movie or sci fi person.

I'm very picky on movies depending on what mood I'm in. That said, the last few movies I've watched in the past few months, all of which were good:

Godfather (all 3)
Das Boot
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (I love Jimmy Stuart!)
The Usual Suspects
Memento
Panz Labryinth
The Pianist
Life is Beautiful
Some Like it Hot
When Harry Met Sally
Batman Begins
Crash
Harvey
Big Fish
Scarface

I'll spare you the list of chick flicks.

Don't know how much TV you watch,Kev, but you could get seasons of '24' or comedies like Scrubs and such. Or check out your city library! The latest book I've read is John Grishams' The Innocent Man...good read, and important in the scheme of some things, imho.

I always recommend seasons of TV shows...better value and frankly better watching than movies. Since I mainly watch the genre you don't like...well, Cruel Intentions is probably my favorite non-fantasy/horror/sci-fi movie. Blade Runner, Underworld, Serenity are great but Sci-fi. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai or Rocky Horror if you want a good cult flick!

Default Great film.......

"Half Nelson"
Ryan Gosling stars as a crack addicted teacher, who really cares about his students. Though a very dedicated teacher, he still struggles with his own personal demons. He's terrific, as is Shareeka Epps (in her first film) as one of his young students, who has a few stuggles of her own. The both won Independent Spirit awards for their performances, and of course Gosling was also an Oscar nominee. It's a great film from last year, let me know what you think if you see it. By the way, Ryan Gosling is about to be seen in theaters this Friday along side the great Anthony Hopkins in " Fracture " which looks like it could be a fine thriller of a film.

Default I'll say this...

He's a fine actor, and has a bright future. The rest i'll leave to his female fans to comment on.

Default New film playing....

"Fracture" with Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling. My wife and I saw it last night, great performances from the 2 leads. It's a pretty cleverly written thriller as well, with a few interesting plot twists. We enjoyed it, check it out and post your opinions.
