![]() In the last leg of tomorrow's Magna "5" the 5th race @ SA, the #3 horse;
Dancin' Sami made her debut in a quarter horse race at Los Alamitos going 870 yards? Can thoroughbreds race in quarter horse race? Never saw that before.

Actaully, the TB are at a disadvantage. TB rarely can break with QH and usually are 3-4 lengths back at the first call. |

![]() Anyone remember the Griswold (It's been a long time....but his name was something like that???) vs. Valiant Pete match races? Anyways Griswold was a world champion quarter horse and Valiant Pete was one of the better California sprinters (again it was such a long time ago that I might be forgetting something). They had a match race at 4 furlongs which I think Valiant Pete won. That's the only case I remember of quarter horse versus thoroughbred.

![]() Actually, I believe some (many?, most?) quarter horses have thoroughbred blood in their breeding. Of course the reverse isn't true due to the strict breeding rules with thoroughbreds (no AI, no crossbreed etc.)
