Default Holthus works two good 1's at Oaklawn....

Red Raymond in 1.01.4/5 and Officer Rocket in 48.40 My friend said they both looked good and fit. Officer Rocket will bet down to nothing in the opening weekend Stakes at 6f. Red Raymond will return to the track in an open Allowance at 1 mile opening week.

PB,

Can't wait for the opening day at the Hot Springs oval. Should be a great meet with outstanding group of trainers and jockeys. Planning a trip in late March to Oaklawn. It will nice to the Holthus/Mckee combo have another great meet.

Me and the wifey have a week planned for the Southwest Stakes weekend. I think March 16-19 somewhere in there anyway. We've got family in Murfreesboro and Nashville. My friend sales real estate in the Lake Hamilton area so get stay at some real houses. Talk back on here and maybe we can hook during the meet. My buddy delivers bread to the track kitchen and couple of them work for William Fires. I'll get a couple live ones this meet maybe.

hard spun was due to show up at oaklawn wednesday, after an easy win at philly park. he's aiming for the lecomte next month at FG's, and then will follow the oaklawn to churchill route. at least, that's the plan. we all know how well plans work out on paper--GREAT! but sometimes reality is not so much.

Perhaps the ownership of Lawyer Ron will realize their foolishness and return the colt to the guy that made him a star before some of the Mepivicane man's assistants do him further harm. The colt was virtually unbeatable in the care of the master Holthus.

Throw out his races on the turf and on polytrack, and suddenly he has a very gaudy main track slate.

Hopefully, Office Rockers stays sprinting. He is a nice horse, but I think he needs 1 mile of less.

Euro, I think you might be correct on this one. Next Friday we have him entered in the Dixieland Stakes opening day. 5 1/2 furlongs. We need to get his spirits back up. Borel worked him 4f today in 48:80 breezing (3/56). Then on the 6th on a good track he worked 5f in 1:02:20 breezing (3/66). He is a wonderful horse to be around. Quite the character!

Red Raymond worked again in a Bullet with company today. Breadman said everyone is high on him and get ready to see a good year at Oaklawn for him. Also Steppenwolfer is ready to open his 2007 season real soon after working 49.4 the other day. I think Lukas will have some older horses going for the Razorback/Oaklawn Handicap series. Can't wait for Opening Weekend and March 17 Rebel Stakes. Me and the wife will be in town leaving the easy life all week long in March. I'll post on the get-together section because I know some of you will be at the meet sometime.
