![]() two articles on the Bloodhorse site that are very interesting... one on contamination in the backstretch which I totally agree with and the second on the jocks wanting their 10% even if the purse is redistrubuted for a drug positive... on the latter... will the jock give me my % if he gets DQ'd???

![]() I am so sick of all the jockey's and their incessant whining and crying. Most of them make me want to puke. At least half of them aren't even able to spell horse. I don't wish any of them any ill will, however I couldn't care less about any of their "problems".
In this latest outrageous demand from the current charlatan they have empowered to represent them, they want the trainer to reimburse them for their 10% if there is a subsequent DQ for a drug positive. LOL!!!! I want the riders to reimburse the owners/trainers every time it is clear that they are the main reason their horse is beaten when it should have won. Further, I think they should carry their checkbooks with them so as they are returning to the jockey's room after a race they can refund the money the fans wagered on that same horse that they caused to lose. Fair is fair, If it is the riders fault let THEM pay back everyone who THEY cost income. Good idea Manley, Go talk to to Reverend Jesse, maybe he can help you pray for industry support for your initiatives, because that is the only chance you have. |

![]() Samm,
We discussed the jockeys BS quite thoroughly last week. Barker's study is exactly what I have been preaching for three years, that zero tolerance is BS. The rules and regulations need major revising before the penalty phase can realistically be set. |

Bravo! Couldn't agree more. Their perverse sense of entitlement is beyond belief. How about riders that ride for obvious and known juicers? I guess they should be rewarded if those guys don't get caught.....AND if they do. They are solidifying a very bad position in racing. |

![]() I don't know enough about the situation to make comment, but I will anyway. The facts are that the jockeys risk lives every single race they ride...period. I will never come home from my job in a full body cast as Jose Santos did the other day. If a jockey's poor ride costs you money and you dont' like it...simple solution to that...don't bet. And perhaps it is their own faults that they don't have a better system set up to insure themselves in case of horrific injuries that do occur, such as the wealthiest jockeys putting a small percentage of their winnings, or more into an insurance fund which will be self supporting with the lower income jockeys at bush tracks not having to foot as much of that.
All these forums incessantly bash the jockeys, so I assume that what is going on with the union is wrong which is fine, but nonetheless the sport doesn't exist and cannot exist without them. And they are the ones in the sport in by far the most danger daily, as the latest from MR Santos verifies. What do those of you who criticize and bash them think is the solution to whatever the problem is? I write this stupidly and really don't know what is going on and what the real controversy is with is it Manley his name?? Is it insurance?, is it pay? Is it who foots the bill?? thanks for the info, whomever provides it!!
