Default 2/8: Gulfstream (Late P4)

Off a good late series of action at Santa Anita Wedneday, attention turns to Gulfstream that has an important soph filly ALW and glittery OC/ALW featuring Jazil, Corinthian, King of Jazz and Doc Cheney as part of the late events... Hope some of you caught at least the SA 5th-7th P3 Wednesday...

SELECTIONS -- GULFSTREAM

6th: CLM/N3L, 4+, 5.5f (DD, P3, P4, Super)

1. #4 Western Slam 6-1: Waxed this type at MED; Goes T2D with Kent D. 7th
2. #9 Cup Fever 5-2: Bested N2L's two back; Bobbled at break last.. 5th
A. #7 Treasure Seeker 3-1: Topped one above by <L last; Gets Edgar back.. 3rd
B. #5 Awesome Idea 12-1: Makes 2nd start for DiMauro; 'Go to' guy sticks.. 6th


7th: OC/N2X, 4+, 9f (DD, P3, Super)

1. #7 Jazil 8-5: Classic winner and distance lover gets 2nd prep off injury.. 2nd
2. #6 Doc Cheney 6-1: Can take them a long way with little pressure.. 4th
A. #2 Corinthian 2-1: Trouble-making Jerkens red back from career-threatener.. WON
B. #1 King of Jazz 4-1: Another that had lengthy lay up; '05 'Plate' runner-up threat on career best.. 5th


8th: ALW/N1X, 3yo-F, 7f (DD, Super)

1. #8 Early Vintage 8-1: Romans' Jump Start bay overlaid; Bested 'Bertie' in career bow.. 3rd
2. 2. #4 Silver Knockers 3-1: Gene Wilder: "Some knockers..", Teri Garr: "Thank you.." WON
A. #1 Panty Raid 5-2: Tore 'em off at Toga.. 6th
B. #7 Rolling True 20-1: Nice exotics value on late runner that will like 7 panels.. 5th


9th: MSW, 4yo-F, 1m-T (Super)

1. #1 Silver Ransom 6-1: Respect connections of hot working firster.. 8th
2. #5 War Charm 3-1: Non-Phipps runner from Shug had troubled debut.. 3rd
A. #12 Gone Overboard 4-1: Clever Nicks returns Gone West red away since CD.. WON
B. #9 Demmurer 12-1: Must use grey from Barbera; Doffs blinks, keeps JV.. 10th

I think Esplanade wins this one and is a nice overlay. Speed and fade. Connections try to find Esplanade's heart.
