I can watch World Cup Soccer if I bet on it.

My kids will not be allowed to play soccer, b/c I don't want to watch their games.

DD,

There was a surprising number of inquiries to SIRIUS from subscribers about it, and of course, we've been pushing them on it. They had been thinking about adding another Sports Channel, and having ATRAB as 9 hours worth of programming M-F helped... 4-7pm, 1-4am, 4-7am...

We will still be pre-empted in March for the first 2 days of the NCAA Tournament, but that I can respect and appreciate.. (As opposed to this week's Premier League tilt between Arsenal and Nottingham..)

I took bets in Middle School....I also put lines up for high school football games that I attended. But I had too many friends who were not gamblers.

My kids will be shaving points in PAL basketball games. Hahahah.

Sorry your show got pushed out from the #1 sport in the world. Even here in the USA. But if you bother to look around, there are alot of out of country people, legal or not. Football (soccer to u) is a way of life, horse racing to most is a way to pass time and maybe win a few bucks. I enjoy most of your shows but it will always be second fiddle in the grand scheme of sports. It is what it is. Glad they feel the show is worthy enough to be put on another channel. I will continue to listen. We all have our likes and dislikes. Most Americans love the hard hitting violence. Fine. Watch a aussie football game one time. No pads, continious play. IMO people in the US need to take a trip abroad to appreciate a different point of view of things. Football not your cup of tea, fine but it is the number one sport in the world. If someone denies soccer not being the most popular sport in the world, I'll have a laugh.

The fact that soccer is the worlds most followed sport is a big reason I cringe when I hear people mention the rest of the world when it comes to North American racing. Just because the the majority of the world likes it does not mean that we should have to.

Well said. There are some great over seas racing most of us have not seen. I still would like to know why the weights in the states are what they are? Can't a sport evolve and change to make it fair to everyone involved. Because a jocks life is a very important aspect to racing. Higher weights, big deal the horses will still run the same. The better horse that day will win. Sad the records would change, big deal. The records should change in baseball now that the truth is out. The jocks are the ones to suffer in my opinion. 10 percent for the way I live? Tough call. For most it is better than where they came from. When you have nothing and live the dream, then hell life is great.

I have been racing in both europe and asia and while I enjoyed it, one of the biggest things for me was how different things are done in different places. Doing things differently is part of the appeal of various racing venues. The cry of "well the rest of the world does it this way" is such a singular argument that rarely takes into consideration the inate differences in both the style and structure of racing and its venues.
The jockeys weight thing is not valid to me over here because #1. we have raised the weights in the last few years and #2 the style of racing here makes it harder to carry signifigantly higher weights (i.e.- dirt races, sprints, much more cheap racing, etc)
